I recently replaced my Blackberry 7105t with a Motorola Q. I thought I'd sell the Blackberry, but was having trouble getting it completely reset to factory (or carrier) defaults. In particular, even after resetting and wiping the device, my corporate IT Policy remained. After a lot of searching, I finally found a solution posted here: blackberry.ig3.net
First of all, this is not a guide on how to remove carrier information from a Blackberry. If you're unable to use a different SIM card than the one that was originally supplied with your device, look elsewhere. However if, like many others you have a Blackberry that is locked by a BES, meaning you're unable to change certain settings, or install Third Party Applications then read on. Essentially, the problem is that your Blackberry has at some point been connected to a BES (Blackberry Enterprise Server), and this BES has placed a restrictive Security Policy (or IT Policy) on your device. A quick check to see if this is the case can be done by going to Options/Security on your Device. If you see any references to IT Policy whatsoever, then you have a potentially restrictive IT Policy that can be removed.

One of the drawbacks of using the XBox 360 as a DVD player is the resolution of DVD content (not games) is limited to 480p. This is due to copy protection requirements imposed by the studios. But Peter Near posted some good news:
From Peter:
"...during an update this spring Microsoft quietly enabled high-definition output of DVDs when you are connected using a VGA cable, and only when you’re connected via VGA. Apparently this is leveraging a loophole in the copy protection guidelines that allows PCs connected to monitors via VGA to upscale the content to match the resolution of the display."
Several HDTVs have VGA inputs, including my Samsung DLP. So this is definitely good news.
A friend showed me this site that translates any web page into various dialects, such as Jive, Redneck, Hacker, Pig Latin, and even Elmer Fudd. Very funny!

I'm the proud owner of a new 2006 Infiniti G35. It is really a great car and a lot of fun to drive.
For those of you that have one, here is a link to view the owner's manual online or download a PDF version. I'm sharing it here because it is very hard to find.

I switched over from Blogger to dasBlog today. Unfortunately, this involved switching hosting providers from Network Solutions to Server Intellect. Though NetSol claims to support ASP.Net applications, they do not allow the app to access anything outside of the root. So any application that makes use of sub-folders will break. Works out that Server Intellect is cheaper and, so far, better.
Setting up dasBlog was a snap. Now I just need to get the templates customized and move any worth-while posts over...
